The Regimental Displays

Where in the world?

The York & Lancaster Regimental Gallery tells the story of some of the countries that the Regiment served in and what they were doing there at specific points in time. Examples can be seen of the equipment that they used, some of the uniforms that they wore, and the souvenirs and letters that they sent back home.

Visit the Anderson Shelter, a reconstructed World War II air raid shelter, to see and hear personal stories of what wartime and military life was like for the soldiers in their own words. Learn how humour was used to distract people from their worries, and how families kept in touch.
